1. Introduction

Welcome to ScryForge. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ScryForge platform, including our website, services, and AI-powered content creation tools (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using ScryForge, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ScryForge. Your continued use of the Service following any updates to these Terms will constitute your acceptance of those changes.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:

  • "Platform" - The ScryForge website, web application, and all related services provided through scryforge.com or associated domains.
  • "User" - Any individual or entity who accesses or uses the Platform, whether registered or unregistered, including game masters, players, and content creators.
  • "Content" - Any text, images, data, or other materials created, uploaded, or generated by Users through the Platform, including campaigns, NPCs, monsters, encounters, items, and other game content.
  • "AI Agents" / "Artificers" - Our AI-powered content creation tools that assist Users in generating original tabletop roleplaying game content, including but not limited to the Campaign Architect, NPC Generator, Monster Maker, and other specialized agents.
  • "Credits" - The unit of measurement used to access AI content generation features. Credits are consumed when using AI Agents to create content, with different actions requiring varying amounts of credits.

3. Intellectual Property Disclaimers

Independence Statement

ScryForge is an INDEPENDENT platform and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to:

  • Wizards of the Coast LLC
  • Dungeons & Dragons®, D&D®, or D&D Beyond®
  • Hasbro, Inc.
  • Paizo Inc. (Pathfinder®)
  • Chaosium Inc. (Call of Cthulhu®)
  • Free League Publishing
  • Any other tabletop roleplaying game publisher or their products

Trademark Acknowledgment

All trademarks, service marks, and copyrights for games, rule systems, artwork, and proprietary content belong to their respective owners. ScryForge does not claim ownership of any third-party intellectual property. Use of any third-party trademarks is solely for identification purposes and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

What ScryForge Does NOT Do:

  • Does NOT provide, reproduce, or distribute official game content
  • Does NOT sell official rulebooks, sourcebooks, or supplements
  • Does NOT reproduce copyrighted game mechanics, stat blocks, or text from official publications
  • Does NOT claim to be an official tool, partner, or licensee of any game publisher
  • Does NOT store or distribute pirated or unauthorized content

What ScryForge IS:

  • An independent platform for user-generated content creation
  • An AI-assisted tool to help game masters create original content
  • Compatible with various TTRPG systems through user customization
  • Focused on original, user-created content for personal use

4. User-Generated Content

ScryForge enables you to create, store, and manage content for your tabletop roleplaying games. The following terms apply to all User-Generated Content:

  • a.Ownership: You retain full ownership of all original content you create using the Platform. ScryForge does not claim ownership of your campaigns, NPCs, monsters, encounters, or other creative works.
  • b.AI-Assisted Content: Content generated with the assistance of our AI Agents is considered original user content. The AI assists in the creative process but does not copy or reproduce existing copyrighted materials.
  • c.License to ScryForge: By creating content on the Platform, you grant ScryForge a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
  • d.Export Rights: You may export your content at any time through our export features. We encourage you to maintain your own backups of important content.
  • e.Compliance: All content you create must comply with these Terms, including the Prohibited Uses section. ScryForge reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the Platform to:

  • 1.Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of copyrighted materials, including but not limited to official game rulebooks, adventures, or sourcebooks
  • 2.Upload or generate content that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • 3.Attempt to recreate official game content verbatim or in substantially similar form
  • 4.Share or distribute content that violates the rights of third parties
  • 5.Use the Platform for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purposes
  • 6.Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Platform's systems, AI models, or security features
  • 7.Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's services or servers
  • 8.Create content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable

6. Platform Services

ScryForge provides the following services subject to these Terms:

  • a.AI Content Generation: Our AI Agents (Artificers) assist you in creating original content for your games. This includes campaign frameworks, NPCs, monsters, encounters, magic items, and more.
  • b.Credit System: AI content generation features are accessed using credits. Different subscription tiers provide different monthly credit allocations. Credit usage varies based on the complexity of the content being generated.
  • c.Campaign Management: Tools for organizing your campaigns, sessions, and game content with cross-referenced relationships.
  • d.Session Tools: Features for session preparation, live session management, and session history tracking.

Service Availability: We make reasonable efforts to ensure the Platform is available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice when possible.

7. Account Terms

  • a.Account Creation: To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as needed.
  • b.Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
  • c.Subscription and Billing: Paid subscription tiers are billed on a recurring basis. Pricing, features, and billing terms are as described on our Pricing page. You may cancel your subscription at any time, with cancellation taking effect at the end of your current billing period.
  • d.Account Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also request account deletion at any time, subject to any applicable data retention requirements.

8. Limitation of Liability

"AS IS" PROVISION: THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

LIMITATION OF DAMAGES: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCRYFORGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK: You acknowledge that your use of the Service is at your sole risk. You are solely responsible for any content you create and for ensuring your use of the Platform complies with all applicable laws and third-party rights.

9. Changes to Terms

ScryForge reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms on the Platform
  • Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Sending notification to registered users via email for significant changes

Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
